The Cameron Parish School Board met at its special meeting on this date, members in attendance are: Loston McEvers, Dot Theriot, Marsha Trahan, Dwayne Sanner, Karen Nunez, R. Scott Nunez and Marvin Trahan.
The prayer and the pledge were led by Mrs. Dot Theriot and Mr. Scott Nunez.
On the motion of Mrs. Nunez, seconded by Mr. Nunez, the Board approved the Personnel Report as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Theriot, seconded by Mr. Nunez, the Board approved a resolution that authorized the Cameron Parish School Board to proceed with development of a project for refunding of certain outstanding bonds of School District No. 15; authorizing issuance by School District No. 15 of not exceeding $1,500,000 of general obligation refunding bonds, 2010 series; making application to the State Bond Commission and providing for other matters in connection therewith as presented by Attorney Joseph A Delafield. On the motion of Mrs. Theriot, seconded by Mr. Nunez, the Board voted to enter into executive session for the purpose of clarifying students’ disciplinary placement, as presented by the Superintendent.

On the motion of Mrs. Nunez, seconded by Mr. Nunez, the Board approved allowing two senior Grand Lake High School students currently placed in Alternative School to double days and be eligible to return to regular classes at the end of the school day on February 11, 2010; Mrs. Theriot and Mr. Trahan opposed.
On the motion of Mrs. Theriot, seconded by Mr. Nunez, The Board approved that no students be allowed to double suspension or expulsion days to decrease the number of days without approval by the Cameron Parish School Board.
On the motion of Mr. McEvers, seconded by Mr. Sanner, the Board voted to enter into executive session for the purpose of discussion potential litigation and pending personnel issues as presented by the Superintendent.

On the motion of Mrs. Nunez, seconded by Mrs. Trahan, the Board received a report from Talbot, Carmouche and Marcello Law Firm and Mudd and Bruchhaus, LLC, relative to ongoing concerns and potential litigation in reference to environmental issues on Cameron Parish School Board properties.
On the motion of Mrs. Theriot, seconded by Mrs. Nunez, the Board approved enrollment of a student at Hackberry High School currently under provisional custody and required that the student’s custodian obtain a custody order signed by a judge.
On the motion of Mr. McEvers, seconded by Mrs. Theriot, the Board authorized District Attorney Cecil Sanner to construct a Superintendent’s contract reflecting incremental salary adjustments pending a majority satisfactory evaluation; opposed by Mr. Nunez and Mr. Sanner.
On the motion of Mrs. Theriot, seconded by Mrs. Nunez, the Board voted to enter into executive session for the purpose of discussing potential litigation as presented by the Superintendent.

On the motion of Mrs. Nunez, seconded by Mrs. Theriot, the Board received a report from District Attorney Cecil Sanner on a 1999-2006 Siemens Energy Management Contract and requested that District Attorney Cecil Sanner draft an official memorandum and make recommendations relative to an official response to the Louisiana Attorney General.
