Parish of Cameron

March 11, 2013

The Cameron Parish School Board met at its regular meeting on this date, members in attendance are: Tracy Carter, Karen Nunez, James Boudreaux, R. Scott Nunez and Dwayne Sanner.  Absent: Dorothy Theriot and Marsha Trahan

The prayer and the pledge were led by Mr. Nunez and Mr. Boudreaux.

On the motion of Mr. Boudreaux, seconded by Mr. Nunez, the Board approved the agenda.

On the motion of Mrs. Carter, seconded by Mr. Boudreaux, the Board approved the board minutes of the regular meeting of February 18, 2013, as prepared by the Superintendent.

On the motion of Mr. Sanner, seconded by Mrs. Carter, the Board approved the following financial issues:

·         Authorization of payment of the bills, as prepared by Mrs. Trahan.

·         Receipt of Financial Statement and Reports of Current Investments, as prepared by Mrs. Trahan.

·         Receipt of monthly update on FEMA issues, with overall payments of

$ 59,910,273.00 (Rita, Gustav and Ike) to date, as prepared by Ms. Sylvia Cisneros.

·         Authorization to delete retired technology equipment that is irreparable and/or outdated, as presented by the Superintendent.

On the motion of Mr. Boudreaux, seconded by Mr. Nunez, the Board approved current construction bid activities, as presented by James Hoffpauir, Project Management:

A.  Projects to be bid-   James Hoffpauir, Project Management

·         None at this time.

B.  Projects out for bid-   James Hoffpauir, Project Management

·         South Cameron High School- Field House- FEMA Project- going out for bid March 28, 2013

·         Auditorium Landscape Project- CDBG Project- going out for bid March 28, 2013

C.   Approval of bid and quote awards- Selena Cisneros, Project Management

·         None at this time.

On the motion of Mr. Boudreaux, seconded by Mr. Nunez, the Board approved authorizing the Superintendent to advertise for new bids and accept low bids on currently advertised projects due to requisite number of advertising days and a need to move forward on projects, as presented by the Superintendent.

On the motion of Mr. Boudreaux, seconded by Mr. Nunez, the Board approved updates on current FEMA, CDBG and General Fund Construction, Repairs, and Renovations to permanent and temporary sites' projects from Hoffpauir Architects, LLC, Cameron Parish School Board's Project Management Firm, as presented by James Hoffpauir, Architect, and Selena Cisneros, Engineer, Superintendent and Project Architects.

On the motion of Mr. Boudreaux, seconded by Mrs. Carter, the Board received report on 2013 Louisiana School Boards Association Convention, as presented by Vice-President Karen Nunez.

On the motion of Mrs. Carter, seconded by Mr. Sanner, the Board adjourned the regular school board meeting.
