Parish of Cameron

The Cameron Parish School Board met at its regular meeting on this date and meeting was called to order at 5:00 pm, members in attendance are: Marsha Trahan, Christi Labove, Rhonda Boudreaux, Sheila Miller, Sharon Picou and Joseph Delcambre.
Absent: John Canik and Paula Smythe
The prayer and the pledge were led by Mr. Delcambre and Mrs. Boudreaux.
On the motion of Mrs. Labove, seconded by Mr. Delcambre, the Board approved the agenda.
On the motion of Mr. Delcambre, seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board approved the minutes of the November 13, 2017 regular meeting of the Cameron Parish School Board, as prepared by the Superintendent.
The Board recognized Hackberry High School as Top Gains Honor Roll for Pre-K and Grand Lake High School as Excellent Honor Roll for Pre-K, as presented by Mrs. Lindsey Fontenot- Supervisor.
The Board received presentation from Sean McIntosh, Project Engineering Manager, Commonwealth Project.
The Board received presentation of the 1st Quarter report for the 2017-2018 school year, as presented by Trainer Jason Rodriguez, Center for Orthopaedics.
The Board received for review revisions to the Cameron Parish School Board Pupil Progression Plan as presented for input to local stakeholders committee and to be voted on at the January 2018 meeting, as presented by Mrs. Stephanie Rogers.
On the motion of Mrs. Trahan, seconded by Mr. Delcambre, the Board approved payment of the bills, as presented by Mrs. Michelle Trahan.
The Board received Financial Statement and Reports of Current Investments, as presented by Mrs. Michelle Trahan.
The Board received information on the monthly report on property income as prepared by Mr. Lee Bloch- Bloch, Briggs & Associates.
The Board received reports on current construction bid activities, as presented by Mr. James Hoffpauir, Hoffpauir Project Management Team:
A. Projects to be bid- James Hoffpauir, Project Management
· Hackberry High School- Modifications and upgrades for accessibility-FEMA PW 4753- Site 28- FEMA
obligation received December 4, 2017.
· Hackberry High School- Reroof II- FEMA obligation received December 4, 2017
B. Projects out for bid/quotes- James Hoffpauir, Project Management
o None at this time.
On the motion of Mrs. Boudreaux, seconded by Mrs. Labove, the Board approved C. Core, Inc. as low bidder for the Johnson Bayou High School, Fencing- FEMA- Ike PW419, as recommended and presented by David Brossett, AIA, Brossett Architects, LLC.
On the motion of Mrs. Trahan, seconded by Mrs. Labove, the Board approved additional fencing to be added to Fencing PW at Johnson Bayou High School to secure the school property. Additional fencing will run north and south connecting to the northern boundary fencing. In the event that this fencing is not allowed by FEMA, the Board will determine funding source at a later meeting, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Labove, seconded by Mrs. Boudreaux, the Board approved authorizing the Superintendent to advertise for new bids and accept low bids on currently advertised projects due to requisite number of advertising days and a need to move forward on projects, as presented by the Superintendent.
The Board received updates on current FEMA, CDBG and General Fund Construction, Repairs, and Renovations to permanent and temporary sites' projects from Hoffpauir Architects, LLC, Cameron Parish School Board's Project Management Firm, as presented by Hoffpauir Architects, LLC and Project Architects.
The Board received for review policy revisions to align with the 2017 Louisiana Regular Legislative Session, to be voted on at the January 2018 meeting, as presented by the Superintendent.

On the motion of Mrs. Boudreaux, seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board approved the 2018 Cameron Parish School Board meetings, schedule as follows, as presented by the Superintendent:

On the motion of Mrs. Labove, seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board approved authorizing Superintendent to sign 60-month surface lease beginning 1st day of January 2018 and ending December 21, 2022 on behalf of the Board for 6.47 acres more or less belonging to Roberta C. Richard and Genelle Marie Crochet west of South Cameron High School for school use, as presented by the Superintendent.

Please accept this report regarding my efforts to meet the following Performance Objectives as outlined in Exhibit A of my employment contract:
1. Human Resource Management
a. Completed Principal COMPASS evaluations and Professional Growth Plans for the 2016-2017 school year following release of SPS Scores and student test data in November 2017.
2. District Operations and Financial Management
a. Participated in a second kickoff/orientation meeting with new FEMA and GOHSEP representatives to review process and procedures for submitting system claims related to Harvey.
b. Contacted CPSO DARE Officer to begin plans for school-level presentations on preventing and/or reporting bullying incidents.
c. Met with Project Management Team and Central Office Representatives to formulate plan/procedures for storing FEMA and CDBG related documents for efficient access during formal documents review.
d. Met with architects and school-level personnel at Hackberry High School to review options for adding classroom space as approved at the November Board meeting.
3. Student Growth and Achievement
a. Attended Pupil Progression Plan Meeting to update 2017-2018 Pupil Progression Plan template recently released by LDOE.
4. Communication and Community Relations
a. Received school submissions for annual system Christmas Cards design and coordinated printing of same.
5. Organizational Leadership
a. Authorized training of Central Office and school-level staff in online program for reporting maintenance work orders.
b. Participated in Superintendent’s Conference Call with LDOE Superintendent White.
On the motion of Mrs. Picou, seconded by Mrs. Boudreaux, the Board adjourned the regular school board meeting at 5:37 p.m.
