Parish of Cameron

The Cameron Parish School Board met at its Special called meeting on this date and meeting was called to order at 7:48 am, members in attendance are: Marsha Trahan, Christi Labove, Rhonda Boudreaux, Sheila Miller, John Canik, Sharon Picou. Joseph Delcambre and Paula Smythe.

The prayer and the pledge were led by Mrs. Labove and Mr. Canik.

On the motion of Mr. Delcambre, seconded by Mr. Canik, the Board approved the agenda.

On the motion of Mr. Canik, seconded by Mrs. Labove, the Board approved the resolution on proposed withdrawal of funds from EEF plan for Tobacco Settlement Funds by roll call vote:

            Yeas: Marsha Trahan, Christi Labove, Rhonda Boudreaux, Sheila Miller, John Canik, Sharon Picou, Joseph Delcambre, Paula Smythe

                        Nays:   None

                        On the motion of Mrs. Trahan, seconded by Mr. Canik, the Board approved granting out-of-state travel to the Hackberry High School 4^th & 5^th Grade to travel to Beaumont, TX to the Jack Brooks Regional Airport to tour the Hurricane Tracking Plane on May 8, 2018, to be transported by school bus and certified driver, as presented by the Superintendent.

                        The Board began Interviews of selected applicants for Superintendent in the following order as presented by President Miller:

§  Dr. Linda Marshall

§  Mr. Charley Lemons

§  Dr. Holly Castille

§  Mr. Michael Shamblin

§  Mr. David Gray

On the motion of Mr. Delcambre, seconded by Mrs. Picou the Board voted by Roll Call vote to enter into Executive Session to discuss results of interviews conducted:

            Yeas: Marsha Trahan, Christi Labove, Rhonda Boudreaux, Sheila Miller, John Canik, Sharon Picou, Joseph Delcambre, Paula Smythe

                        Nays:   None

                        Abstain: None

                        Absent:  None

On the motion of Mrs. Boudreaux, seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board entered back into regular session and to designate the two finalists selected to return for a second interview on April 30, 2018 at 5:00 pm with interviews being conducted in Executive Session.

The Board voted by ballot to determine the two finalist with the interviewees receiving the following votes:

On the motion of Mrs. Boudreaux, seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board adjourned the Special called school board meeting at 2:57 p.m.
