Parish of Cameron

The Cameron Parish School Board met at its special called meeting on this date and meeting was called to order at 4:57 pm, members in attendance are: Christi Labove, Marsha Trahan, Rhonda Boudreaux, Sheila Miller, John Canik, Sharon Picou, Joseph Delcambre and Paula Smythe.

The prayer and the pledge were led by Mrs. Trahan and Mrs. Smythe.

On the motion of Mrs. Labove, seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board approved the agenda.

On the motion of Mrs. Picou, seconded by Mrs. Smythe, the Board approved   granting out-of-state travel to the Johnson Bayou High School 8^th through 11th Grade to travel to Houston, TX to the Houston Museum of Natural Science on May 10, 2018, to be transported by school bus and certified driver, as presented by the Superintendent.

The Board proceeded to interview the finalists for Superintendent and the selection of Superintendent and approval of related procedures, as presented by the President.

On the motion of Mrs. Boudreaux, seconded by Mr. Canik, the Board took a roll call vote to enter into Executive Session for the purpose interview for finalists for Superintendent:

Roll call vote was taken to enter back into regular session, as presented by the President:

The Board voted by ballot to determine the selection of the Superintendent with the interviewees receiving the following votes:

Dr. Holly Castille -        4

Mr. Charley Lemons-4

On the motion of Mrs. Trahan, seconded by Mrs. Labove a ten-minute recess was taken.

The Board reconvened and a second vote was taken as presented by the President.

The Board voted by ballot to determine the selection of the Superintendent with the interviewees receiving the following votes:

Dr. Holly Castille -        3

Mr. Charley Lemons-5

The selection for Superintendent was announced and the selection of the committee to negotiate the Superintendents contract to be presented at the May 14, 2018 Cameron Parish School Board meeting was determined to consist of the President, the Vice-President and Mr. Bob Hammonds- Hammonds, Sills, Adkins & Guice.

            Board Member Paula Smythe- District 8 stated her intentions of resigning her District 8 Board position.

On the motion of Mrs. Boudreaux, seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board adjourned the special called school board meeting at 6:20 p.m.
