The Cameron Parish School Board met at its regular meeting on this date at 5:00 pm and meeting was called to order, members in attendance were: Marsha Trahan, Telesha Bertrand, Robin Morales, Sheila Miller, Christi Labove, Sharon Picou and Joseph Delcambre Absent: Randall Faulk
The prayer and the pledge were led by Mrs. Morales and Mrs. Miller
.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Bertrand, the Board approved the agenda.
On the motion of Mrs. Picou, seconded by Mrs. Miller, the Board approved the board minutes of the January 10, 2022 regular meeting and the January 31, 2022 Special Called Meeting of the Cameron Parish School Board, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mr. Delcambre, seconded by Mrs. Miller, the Board approved payment of the bills, as presented by Mrs. Michelle Trahan.
The Board received Financial Statement and Reports of Current Investments, as presented by Mrs. Michelle Trahan.
The Board received information on the monthly report on property income, as prepared by District Attorney Tom Barrett and Mr. Mike Cassidy- Cameron Parish District Attorney office.
On the motion of Mr. Delcambre, seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board approved Industrial Tax Exemption Application(s) #20210532-ITE and #20210516-ITE, as presented by the Superintendent.
The Board received reports on current construction bid activities, as presented by Mr. James Hoffpauir, Hoffpauir Project Management Team:
A. Projects to be bid/quotes - James Hoffpauir, Project Management
> Grand Lake High School- Final Phase Restoration Repairs- Out for Bid mid-February 2022
> Grand Lake High School- Bleacher Cover at Softball Field- Out for bid in GLHS Final Phase project to go out for bid mid-February
> Johnson Bayou High School- Restoration Repair Phase II- preparing package for remaining damages including outdoor gym, concession building, fencing and other site damaged items
> South Cameron High School- Various Final Restoration Repairs-Miscellaneous
Repairs to Athletic Field Structures (stadium, light poles, bleachers, press Box, Green House, etc.)- Anticipated advertising early Summer 2022
> South Cameron High School New Gym Complex- Preliminary floor plan updated- to be reviewed by Superintendent and Principal
> New covered basketball pavilion- Will be on grade (ground) level-Anticipate advertising in next two weeks
B. Projects out for bid/quotes- James Hoffpauir, Project Management
> Hackberry High School- VoAg- Demo and Rebuild- Bids to be received February 17, 2022- addendum being mailed
C. Approval of bid and quote awards- Superintendent
D. > None at this time
On the motion of Mrs. Trahan, seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board approved authorizing the Superintendent to advertise for new bids and accept low bids on currently advertised projects due to requisite number of advertising days and a need to move forward on projects, as presented by the Superintendent.
The Board received updates on current FEMA, CDBG and General Fund Construction, Repairs, and Renovations to permanent and temporary sites' projects from Hoffpauir Architects, LLC, Cameron Parish School Board's Project Management Firm, as presented by Hoffpauir Architects, LLC and Project Architects.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Bertrand, the Board approved authorization execute amendment number 5 to AIA-A133 Agreement between Cameron Parish School Board and The Lemoine Company dated June 23, 2020 for Hackberry High School Fixtures, Furnishings and Equipment (FFE) items totaling $173,108., as presented by the Superintendent.
The Board received information regarding the Reapportionment / Redistricting timeline, criteria and process, as presented by District Attorney Tom Barrett and the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Bertrand, the Board approved extension of contract with Computer One Inc. for Intelligent IT Support Agreement “WIFI”, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Trahan, seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board approved the 2022-2023 Cameron Parish School Board District Calendar, accepting Option 2, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board approved administrator contract renewals- as presented by the Superintendent:

Johnson Bayou High School- Assistant Principal Valerie Murphy
The Board received information on Covid-19 update, as presented by the Superintendent.

Please accept this report regarding my efforts to meet the following Performance Objectives as outlined in Exhibit A of my employment contract:
1. Human Resource Management
a. Met with Mrs. Lannin, Mrs. Trahan, and Mrs. Rogers on 1/4, 1/13, 1/20, and 1/27 to continue planning for a reorganization of duties/assignments pending Mrs. Lannin’s retirement in July of 2022
b. Met with Mrs. Rogers regarding supervisor assignments and duties
2. District Operations and Financial Management
a. Met with Mr. Hoffpauir and insurance representatives on 2/10 and 2/24 regarding status of insurance payments and construction in progress
b. Met with Mr. Brossett and Mr. Hoffpauir on 1/13 to review Phase II construction plans for Admin Building
c. Attended construction meeting for SCHS on 1/12, 1/20, and 1/27
d. Attended pre bid construction meeting for HHS Ag Facility on 1/28
e. Attended Construction meeting with selected contractor for Admin building on 1/20 regarding Phase II
f. Worked with Mrs. King and principals regarding 2022-2023 School Calendar options
g. Met with Reps from First Financial on 1/25
3. Student Growth and Achievement
a. Visited each school at least once a week to meet with administration regarding any issues pertaining to student attendance and achievement
b. Visited various classrooms to informally interact with students and teachers
4. Communication and Community Relations
a. Participated in CPR Geaux meeting on 1/12
b. Participated in meetings with local health officials regarding COVID situation
5. Organizational Leadership
a. Participated in a LDOE Superintendent’s call on 1/7
b. Attended redistricting workshop on 1/31
c. Participated in LASS conference virtually on 1/10
On the motion of Mrs. Picou, seconded by Mrs. Miller, the Board adjourned the regular school board meeting at 5:36 pm.
