The Cameron Parish School Board met at its regular meeting on this date at 5:00 pm and meeting was called to order, members in attendance were: Marsha Trahan, Telesha Bertrand, Robin Morales, Sheila Miller, Christi Labove and Sharon Picou, Absent: Joseph Delcambre and Randall Faulk
The prayer and the pledge were led by Mrs. Trahan and Mrs. Morales.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board approved the agenda
.
The Board held a public hearing to receive comments on the Proposed Plan A for the Single-Member Election Districts for the Cameron Parish School Board in accordance with the 2020 Census as prepared by Michael C. Hefner, Chief Demographer, Geographic Planning and Demographic Services, LLC and presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Trahan, the Board took a roll call vote to approve Resolution adopting Plan A as the Election Plan for the Cameron Parish School Board in Accordance with the 2020 Census, as presented by the Superintendent:

On the motion of Mrs. Picou, seconded by Mrs. Morales, the Board approved the board minutes of the March 14, 2022 regular meeting and the March 15, 2022 Special Called Meeting of the Cameron Parish School Board, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Bertrand, the Board approved renewal of the following insurance issues and allowing the Superintendent to sign on behalf of the Cameron Parish School Board for insurance items still pending on receiving quotes not to exceed estimated amounts received, as presented by Nancy Sylvester, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. and Superintendent:
· Pollution (includes mold)
· Boiler & Machinery
· Property
· Violent Malicious Acts
· Disaster Management Services
· Terrorism – both Liability and Property
· Cyber Liability (Covers the school district’s exposure related to privacy breach, digital restoration, security liability, release of student records, etc.)
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board approved payment of the bills, as presented by Mrs. Michelle Trahan.
The Board received Financial Statement and Reports of Current Investments, as presented by Mrs. Michelle Trahan.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Bertrand, the Board took a roll call vote to adopt the millage rates, leaving at current rates for the tax year 2022, as presented by Mrs. Michelle Trahan:

On the motion of Mrs. Trahan, seconded by Mrs. Miller, the Board approved acceptance of Independent Auditor’s Report, as presented by Mr. Coy Vincent, CPA and prepared by Gragson, Casiday & Guillory, LLP.
The Board received information on the monthly report on property income, as prepared by District Attorney Tom Barrett and Mr. Mike Cassidy- Cameron Parish District Attorney office.
The Board received reports on current construction bid activities, as presented by Mr. James Hoffpauir, Hoffpauir Project Management Team:
A. Projects to be bid/quotes - James Hoffpauir, Project Management
> Grand Lake High School- Final Phase Restoration Repairs- Out for Bid last week of April and receive bids last week of May
> Grand Lake High School- Bleacher Cover at Softball Field- Will be in final phase project to go out for last week of April and receive bids last week of May
> Johnson Bayou High School- Restoration Repair Phase II- preparing package for remaining damages including outdoor gym, concession building, fencing and other site damaged items- Out for bid early Summer
> South Cameron High School- Various Final Restoration Repairs-Miscellaneous
Repairs to Athletic Field Structures (stadium, light poles, bleachers, press Box, Green House, etc.)- Anticipate advertising various projects April through May
> South Cameron High School New Gym Complex- Preliminary floor plan updated. Out for bid beginning of December 2022
B. Projects out for bid/quotes- James Hoffpauir, Project Management
> New Corridor Flooring for South Cameron High Schools- Bids to be received on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the office of VSG in Sulphur
On the motion of Mrs. Bertrand, seconded by Mrs. Miller, the Board approved of Alfred Palma LLC, Inc. as low bidder at a cost of $639,900. for the covered Basketball Pavillion at South Cameron High School, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Trahan, seconded by Mrs. Morales, the Board approved authorizing the Superintendent to advertise for new bids and accept low bids on currently advertised projects due to requisite number of advertising days and a need to move forward on projects, as presented by the Superintendent.
The Board received updates on current FEMA, CDBG and General Fund Construction, Repairs, and Renovations to permanent and temporary sites' projects from Hoffpauir Architects, LLC, Cameron Parish School Board's Project Management Firm, as presented by Hoffpauir Architects, LLC and Project Architects.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Bertrand, the Board approved allocation of $5000 funds distributed among students attending National FBLA Leadership Conference in Chicago, June 27-July 3, 2022 per Co-Curricular Travel Stipend Request per student per policy IDE, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board approved the annual continued employment resolution pursuant to ACT 745 of 1977 Louisiana Legislature providing that a support and substitute employee shall have the same probability for employment after the 2022 summer vacation period or another holiday, as the support and substitute employee had prior to the beginning of the vacation period, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board received information regarding staffing plans for the 2022-2023 school year and approved the following positions, as presented by the Superintendent:
> Curriculum Coordinators
> Social & Emotional Learning Coordinator
> Splitting of Accounts Payables Duties
> Advertise for Math Supervisor
The Board received information /update regarding property at 510 Marshall St., Cameron, LA, as presented by the Superintendent.
The Board discussed date of the June 2022 Cameron Parish School Board Meeting and took no action, as presented by the Superintendent.

Please accept this report regarding my efforts to meet the following Performance Objectives as outlined in Exhibit A of my employment contract:
1. Human Resource Management
a. Prepared and planned for staffing process in March
b. Conducted voluntary school climate interviews with staffs @ GLES & GLHS on 3/25
c. Begin reviewing 22-23 staffing numbers with supervisors for individual schools
2. District Operations and Financial Management
a. Conducted salary taskforce meeting on 3/14 regarding 13th check
b. Met with Cameron Parish Officials and reps from VNG to discuss needs or concerns
c. Met with Insurance reps on 3/21
d. Attended weekly construction meetings at SC on 3/10, 3/17, 3/24
e. Attended construction meeting for Admin building on 3/17
3. Student Growth and Achievement
a. Held C&I meetings with Supervisors on 3/9 & 3/24
b. Visited each campus weekly to meet with administration regarding any issues and also visited various classrooms and teachers
c. Participated as a member of the Cameron LNG scholarship review committee
4. Communication and Community Relations
a. Met with Sheriff, DA, and Coroner to discuss Crisis Management procedures
b. Attended Dare Graduation @ GLES on 3/11
c. Attended GLHS softball games on 3/11
d. Met with Grand Lake Elementary PTO on 3/14 to address concerns
e. Attended informational meeting on 3/18 regarding future projects @ Cameron LNG
f. Participated in redistricting workshop on 3/15
g. Attended SCHS softball game on 3/15
h. Participated in Zoom call with reps from Focus Foods to discuss possible feeding programs
5. Organizational Leadership
a. Participated in System Leaders call w/LDOE on 3/4
b. Attended the LSBA conference 3/6-3/8
c. Attended SWLA Superintendent’s meeting in Allen Parish on 3/31
On the motion of Mrs. Picou, seconded by Mrs. Miller, the Board adjourned the regular school board meeting at 5:53 pm.
