The Cameron Parish School Board met at its regular meeting on this date at 5:02 pm and meeting was called to order, members in attendance were: Marsha Trahan, Telesha Bertrand, Robin Morales, Sheila Miller, Sharon Picou and Randall Faulk Absent: Joseph Delcambre and Christi Labove
The prayer and the pledge were led by Mrs. Miller and Mr. Faulk.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mr. Faulk, the Board approved the agenda.
On the motion of Mrs. Picou, seconded by Mrs. Morales, the Board approved the board minutes of the April 11, 2022 regular meeting of the Cameron Parish School Board, as presented by the Superintendent.
The Board received information in recognition of the Grand Lake High School ESports Team, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Trahan, the Board approved payment of the bills, as presented by Mrs. Michelle Trahan.
The Board received Financial Statement and Reports of Current Investments, as presented by Mrs. Michelle Trahan.
On the motion of Mrs. Trahan, seconded by Mrs. Miller, the Board approved the School Allocations for 2022-2023 School Year, as presented by Mrs. Michelle Trahan.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Bertrand, the Board took a roll call vote to adopt the millage rates, leaving at current rates for the tax year 2022, as presented by Mrs. Michelle Trahan:
The Board received information on the monthly report on property income, as prepared by Mr. Mike Cassidy- Cameron Parish District Attorney office.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Bertrand, the Board approved request for execution of temporary easement, servitude and right-of-way Section 16-14-9, as presented by Mr. Mike Cassidy- Cameron Parish District Attorney office.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Bertrand, the Board approved awarding to high bidder the 16 sections that were out for bid, as presented by Mr. Mike Cassidy- Cameron Parish District Attorney office.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Bertrand, the Board approved to allow the Superintendent to execute all leases on behalf of the Cameron Parish School Board, as presented by Mr. Mike Cassidy- Cameron Parish District Attorney office.
The Board received reports on current construction bid activities, as presented by Mr. James Hoffpauir, Hoffpauir Project Management Team:
A. Projects to be bid/quotes April-May
James Hoffpauir, Project Management
> Johnson Bayou High School- Restoration Repair Phase II- preparing package for remaining damages including outdoor gym, concession building, fencing and other site damaged items- Out for bid late May
> South Cameron High School- Various Final Restoration Repairs-Miscellaneous Repairs to Athletic Field Structures (stadium, light poles, bleachers, press box, green house, etc.)
> South Cameron High School New Gym Complex- Preliminary floor plan updated. Out for bid beginning of December 2022
B. Projects out for bid/quotes- James Hoffpauir, Project Management
> Grand Lake High School Miscellaneous Campus Repairs. Bids to be received Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 2:00 pm
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mr. Faulk, the Board approved of Continental Flooring Company, as low bidder at a cost of $85,831. for the New Corridor Flooring at South Cameron High School, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Trahan, seconded by Mrs. Miller, the Board approved authorizing the Superintendent to advertise for new bids and accept low bids on currently advertised projects due to requisite number of advertising days and a need to move forward on projects, as presented by the Superintendent.
The Board received updates on current FEMA, CDBG and General Fund Construction, Repairs, and Renovations to permanent and temporary sites' projects from Hoffpauir Architects, LLC, Cameron Parish School Board's Project Management Firm, as presented by Hoffpauir Architects, LLC and Project Architects.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board approved authorization execute amendment number 6 to AIA-A133 Agreement between Cameron Parish School Board and The Lemoine Company dated June 23, 2020 for Hackberry High School totaling $206,165., as presented by the Superintendent.
The Board received for review revisions to Policy JCDA Student Code of Conduct for 2022/2023, per annual Discipline Policy Review Committee meeting, as presented by Supervisor Robin Gates.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board approved projected personnel positions for the 2022-2023 school year per CPSB Policy GBB, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Bertrand, the Board approved authorizing Superintendent to advertise and fill open positions for the 2022-2023 school year and approve salary for the following positions, as presented by the Superintendent:

The Board received information /update regarding property at 510 Marshall St., Cameron, LA, as presented by the Superintendent.
The Board received confirmation of School Board Member training hours earned in 2021, per Statute, as presented by the Superintendent:

On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Bertrand, the Board approved to amend item 14 to include the contract for Mr. Robert Gates as Math Curriculum Supervisor.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board approved the following contracts, as presented by the Superintendent:
Grand Lake High School- Assistant Principal Courtney Verzwyvelt
Central Office- Math Curriculum Supervisor- Robert Gates

Please accept this report regarding my efforts to meet the following Performance Objectives as outlined in Exhibit A of my employment contract:
1. Human Resource Management
a. Visited each campus weekly to meet with administration regarding any issues and also visited various classrooms and teachers. Also began conversations regarding staffing for 2022-2023
b. Worked closely with Mr. Wainwright and supervisors on our staffing numbers and needs for the 2022-2023 school year
c. Conducted school climate interviews with the staff at HHS on 4/5
d. Conducted school climate interviews with the staff at SCHS on 4/6
e. Conducted school climate interviews with the staff at JBHS on 4/12
2. District Operations and Financial Management
a. Participated in CPSB Salary taskforce meeting on 4/11
b. Attended construction meeting at HHS on 4/7
c. Participated in a Zoom call with Dr. Castile and representatives from Focus Foods regarding their service and product
d. Participated in insurance meeting with insurance reps and Mr. Hoffpauir on 4/11
3. Student Growth and Achievement
a. Held C&I meetings with Supervisors on 4/13 and 4/27
4. Communication and Community Relations
a. Attended Dare graduation at JBHS on 4/5
b. Visited with reps from Appetegy on 4/20 as a follow-up
c. Contacted Senator Abrahams and Representative Bourriaque regarding various bills that we are not in support of
5. Organizational Leadership
a. Participated in LDOE Superintendent call on 4/1/22
b. Attended and participated in a 7d Pesticide recertification class in Alexandria on 4/14
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Bertrand, the Board adjourned the regular school board meeting at 5:49 pm.
