The Cameron Parish School Board met at its regular meeting on this date at 5:00 pm and meeting was called to order, members in attendance were: Marsha Trahan, Telesha Bertrand, Robin Morales, Sheila Miller, Christi Labove, Sharon Picou and Joseph Delcambre Absent: Randall Faulk
The prayer and the pledge were led by Mrs. Picou and Mr. Delcambre.
On the motion of Mrs. Picou, seconded by Mrs. Miller, the Board approved the agenda.
On the motion of Mrs. Picou, seconded by Mrs. Miller, the Board approved the board minutes of the May 9, 2022 regular meeting of the Cameron Parish School Board, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Bertrand, the Board approved payment of the bills, as presented by Mrs. Michelle Trahan
.
The Board received Financial Statement and Reports of Current Investments, as presented by Mrs. Michelle Trahan.
The Board received information on the monthly report on property income, as prepared by Mr. Mike Cassidy- Cameron Parish District Attorney office.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Bertrand, the Board received information regarding exchange of Lacassine property with property located near Sabine National Refuge and gave Superintendent authority to proceed with exchange, as presented by Mr. Mike Cassidy- Cameron Parish District Attorney office.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board took a roll call vote to approve Resolution providing for employment of Special Legal Counsel, as presented by the Superintendent:

The Board received reports on current construction bid activities, as presented by Mr. James Hoffpauir, Hoffpauir Project Management Team:
A. Projects to be bid/quotes April-May

> South Cameron High School- Various Final Restoration Repairs-Miscellaneous
Repairs to Athletic Field Structures (stadium, light poles, bleachers, press box,green house, etc.)
> South Cameron High School New Gym Complex- Preliminary floor plan updated.
Out for bid beginning of December 2022
B. Projects out for bid/quotes- James Hoffpauir, Project Management
> Johnson Bayou High School- Restoration Repair Phase II- Bids to be received on Thursday June 23, 2022 at 3:00 pm
> South Cameron High School Track and Field Event Repairs- Bids to be received on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 2:00 pm
On the motion of Mr. Delcambre, seconded by Mr. Trahan, the Board approved of Continental Flooring Company, as low bidder at a cost of $108,888. for the New Corridor Flooring at South Cameron High School, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Bertrand, the Board approved of Alfred Palma LLC, as low bidder at a cost of $2,529,000. for the Grand Lake High School Miscellaneous Campus Repairs, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Trahan, the Board approved authorizing the Superintendent to advertise for new bids and accept low bids on currently advertised projects due to requisite number of advertising days and a need to move forward on projects, as presented by the Superintendent.
The Board received updates on current FEMA, CDBG and General Fund Construction, Repairs, and Renovations to permanent and temporary sites' projects from Hoffpauir Architects, LLC, Cameron Parish School Board's Project Management Firm, as presented by Hoffpauir Architects, LLC and Project Architects.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Bertrand, The Board approved revisions to Policy JCDA Student Code of Conduct for 2022/2023, per annual Discipline Policy Review Committee meeting, as presented by Supervisor Robin Gates.
The Board received information regarding raises, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board received information and approved to drop open enrollment in Cameron Parish, as presented by the Superintendent.
The Board received information /update regarding property at 510 Marshall St., Cameron, LA, as presented by the Superintendent.
The Board received quarterly report from Center for Orthopaedics, as prepared by Trainer Jason Rodriguez and presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Trahan, the Board approved the following contracts, as presented by the Superintendent:
Grand Lake High School- Principal Courtney Verzwyvelt
Grand Lake Elementary School- Principal- Mika Lebert

Please accept this report regarding my efforts to meet the following Performance Objectives as outlined in Exhibit A of my employment contract:
1. Human Resource Management
a. Visited each campus weekly to meet with administration regarding any issues and also visited various classrooms and teachers
b. Held Principal meetings on 5/12 to discuss final staffing numbers and plan of actions for 2223
c. Held C&I meetings with Supervisors on 5/9
2. District Operations and Financial Management
a. Conducted insurance meeting with reps on 5/2 & 5/20
b. Attended HHS Vo Ag construction meeting on 5/5
c. Met with Mr. Brossett, Mr. Witherwax, and Mrs. Labove on 5/16 @ David’s office to discuss plans for Rodeo Arena
d. Met with Mr. Brossett, Mr. Witherwax, and Mrs. Labove on 5/27 @ HHS to discuss plans for Rodeo Arena
3. Student Growth and Achievement
a. Attended Cameron LNG Scholarship reception on 5/10
b. Attended HB Graduation on 5/13
c. Attended SCHS Graduation on 5/14
d. Attended GLHS Graduation on 5/17
e. Attended a presentation from students at GLES in Mrs. Cormier’s class
f. Attended JBHS Awards Ceremony 5/19
g. Attended GLES Choir performance on 5/19
h. Attended Awards presentation on 5/19
i. Participated in Cameron LNG Scholarship interviews on 5/31 for Children of Employees Scholarship Program
4. Communication and Community Relations
a. Attended GLHS Baseball Semi-Final game on 5/11
b. Attended GLHS Baseball Championship game on 5/13
c. Attended VNG CAC meeting on 5/18
d. Gathered surveys from GLHS and GLES for their principal openings-5/20
5. Organizational Leadership
a. Participated in LDOE Superintendent call on 5/6/22
b. Conducted official Spring Site (COMPASS) visits at all campuses
On the motion of Mrs. Picou, seconded by Mrs. Miller, the Board adjourned the regular school board meeting at 5:36 pm.
