The Cameron Parish School Board met at its regular meeting on this date at 5:01 pm and meeting was called to order, members in attendance were: Marsha Trahan, Telesha Bertrand, Robin Morales, Christi Labove, Sharon Picou and Joseph Delcambre
Absent: Sheila Miller and Randall Faulk
The prayer and the pledge were led by Mrs. Picou and Mr. Delcambre.
On the motion of Mr. Delcambre, seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board approved the agenda.
On the motion of Mr. Delcambre seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board approved the board minutes of the July 11, 2022 regular meeting and the July 21, 2022 special called meeting of the Cameron Parish School Board, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mr. Delcambre, seconded by Mrs. Trahan, the Board approved renewal of contract for the 2022-2023 school year with Center for Orthopaedics, as presented by Jason Rodriguez, Center for Orthopaedics.
On the motion of Mr. Delcambre, seconded by Mrs. Bertrand, the Board approved payment of the bills, as presented by Mrs. Michelle Trahan.
The Board received Financial Statement and Reports of Current Investments, as presented by Mrs. Michelle Trahan.
The Board received information and discussed initial draft of the 2022/2023 budget, as presented by Mrs. Michelle Trahan.
The Board received information on the monthly report on property income, as prepared by Mr. Mike Cassidy- Cameron Parish District Attorney office.
On the motion of Mr. Delcambre, seconded by Mrs. Trahan, the Board approved adoption of resolution to be adopted and sent to Office of Group Benefits concerning the exorbitant premium rate hikes, as presented by the District Attorney Tom Barrett and Superintendent.
The Board received reports on current construction bid activities, as presented by Mr. James Hoffpauir, Hoffpauir Project Management Team:
A. Projects to be bid/quotes

· South Cameron High School- Various Final Restoration Repairs-Miscellaneous
· Repairs to Athletic Field Structures (stadium, light poles, bleachers, press
· Box, Green House, etc.)
· South Cameron High School New Gym Complex- Preliminary Floor Plan updated. Out for bid beginning of December 2022- pending FEMA review
· South Cameron High School- Men’s Restroom, Women’s Restroom and Concession Stand
B. Projects out for bid/quotes- James Hoffpauir, Project Management
· None at this time
On the motion of Mr. Delcambre, seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board approved of awarding South Cameron High School Track and Field Event Repairs-to low bidder Garden City Construction Co. at cost of $399,400, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Trahan, seconded by Mrs. Morales, the Board approved authorizing the Superintendent to advertise for new bids and accept low bids on currently advertised projects due to requisite number of advertising days and a need to move forward on projects, as presented by the Superintendent.
The Board received updates on current FEMA, CDBG and General Fund Construction, Repairs, and Renovations to permanent and temporary sites' projects from Hoffpauir Architects, LLC, Cameron Parish School Board's Project Management Firm, as presented by Hoffpauir Architects, LLC and Project Architects.
The Board received for review revisions to Policy JCDB Student Dress Code, as presented by the Superintendent.
The Board received for review policies to align with the 2022 Louisiana Legislative Session, as presented by the Superintendent:

Please accept this report regarding my efforts to meet the following Performance Objectives as outlined in Exhibit A of my employment contract:
1. Human Resource Management
a. Held Central Office Evaluations on 7/18, 7/19, & 7/20
b. Met with an employee on 7/26 to discuss a confidentiality issues
c. Held back to school Administrator meetings on 7/27 & 7/28
2. District Operations and Financial Management
a. Attended meeting on 7/14 at MBK regarding litigation against insurance
b. Attended construction meeting on 7/20 for GLHS
c. Met with project manager and architect on 7/21 for projects at SCHS
3. Student Growth and Achievement
a. Held PD on 7/11 & 7/12 for our school administrators and supervisors regarding walkthrough observations and feedback
b. Began studying data released by LDOE 7/27
4. Communication and Community Relations
a. Attended CPR Geaux meeting on 7/6
b. Held special meeting on 7/21 to discuss adding jeans to the dress code
5. Organizational Leadership
a. Participated in a superintendent collaboration on 7/20 with other superintendents from our region to discuss accountability
b. Met with Dr. Williams from McNeese to discuss our partnership regarding interns(student teachers)
c. Held C & I meetings on 7/7, 7/12, and 7/21
On the motion of Mr. Delcambre, seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board took a roll call vote to enter into Executive Session for the purpose of discussion of evaluation of the Superintendent and Hurricane Claims Litigation, as presented by President.

On the motion of Mr. Delcambre, seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board took a roll call vote to enter into regular session, as presented by the President.

On the motion of Mrs. Picou seconded by Mrs. Trahan, the Board approved evaluation of Superintendent as outstanding, scores recalculated due to error in addition at prior meeting, as presented by the President.
On the motion of Mr. Delcambre, seconded by Mrs. Bertrand, the Board approved a resolution declaring desire and intent to institute litigation necessary to protect rights of citizens of Cameron Parish by filing civil suits against domestic insurers issuing policies in favor of the Cameron Parish School Board, but in no case whatsoever is it the desire or intent to file civil suits against any foreign insurers such as i.e. non-United States insurance company, it is the sole intent of this body to only pursue hurricane damage civil suits against United States insurers only, resolution as prepared by District Attorney Tom Barrett.
On the motion of Mrs. Picou, seconded by Mrs. Morales, the Board adjourned the regular school board meeting at 6:14 pm.
