The Cameron Parish School Board met at its regular meeting on this date at 5:00 pm and meeting was called to order, members in attendance were: Telesha Bertrand, Robin Morales, Sheila Miller, Christi Labove, Joseph Delcambre and Sharon Picou
Absent: Marsha Trahan, Randall Faulk
The prayer and the pledge were led by Mr. Delcambre and Mrs. Morales.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board approved the agenda.
On the motion of Mrs. Picou seconded by Mrs. Bertrand, the Board approved the board minutes of the November 7, 2022 regular meeting of the Cameron Parish School Board, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Bertrand, the Board approved payment of the bills, as presented by Mrs. Michelle Trahan.
The Board received Financial Statement and Reports of Current Investments, as presented by Mrs. Michelle Trahan.
The Board received information on the monthly report on property income, as prepared by Mr. Mike Cassidy- Cameron Parish District Attorney office.
On the motion of Mrs. Delcambre, seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board approved to move forward with Surface/Sub-surface Agreement with Border Exploration, as presented by Assistant District Attorney Michael Cassidy.
The Board received information on District Attorney’s office reviewing and making necessary changes to current Superintendent Evaluation Form.
On the motion of Mr. Delcambre, seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board approved receiving information and moving forward with negotiations of contract provisions for sale of Cameron Parish School Board building located at 510 Marshall St. Cameron, LA, as presented by Assistant District Attorney Michael Cassidy.
On the motion of Mr. Delcambre, seconded by Mrs. Morales, the Board approved Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with Policy Jury Re: FFA Lane Hackberry, as presented by Assistant District Attorney Michael Cassidy.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Bertrand, the Board approved to amend payment agreement with Cameron Parish District Attorney Office to increase to $30,000 per year commencing January 2023, as presented by District Attorney Tom Barrett.
The Board received reports on current construction bid activities, as presented by Mr. James Hoffpauir, Hoffpauir Project Management Team:
A. Projects to be bid/quotes James Hoffpauir, Project Management
Pending Insurance and FEMA Review
> South Cameron High School – Various Final Restoration Repairs – Miscellaneous Repairs to Athletic Field Structures (Stadium Light Poles, Bleachers, Press Box, Green House, etc.)- in FEMA review
> South Cameron High School – Men’s Restroom, Women’s Restroom and Concession Stand- in FEMA review
> South Cameron High School New Gym Complex –in FEMA review
B. Projects out for bid/quotes- James Hoffpauir, Project Management > None at this time
C. Approval of bid and quote awards- Superintendent
> None at this time
On the motion of Mr. Delcambre, seconded by Mrs. Morales, the Board approved authorizing the Superintendent to advertise for new bids and accept low bids on currently advertised projects due to requisite number of advertising days and a need to move forward on projects, as presented by the Superintendent.
The Board received updates on current FEMA, CDBG and General Fund Construction, Repairs, and Renovations to permanent and temporary sites' projects from Hoffpauir Architects, LLC, Cameron Parish School Board's Project Management Firm, as presented by Hoffpauir Architects, LLC and Project Architects.
On the motion of Mr. Delcambre, seconded by Mrs. Miller, the Board discussed and approved Hackberry High School Gymnasiums being dedicated/named, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board approved of the 2022 Cameron Parish School Board meetings, schedule as follows, as presented by the Superintendent:

o August 14
o September 11
o October 9

The Board received information on the release of scores from the LDOE, as presented by the Superintendent.

Please accept this report regarding my efforts to meet the following Performance Objectives as outlined in Exhibit A of my employment contract:
1. Human Resource Management
a. Visited each school at least once a week to meet with administration regarding any issues and also to visit various classrooms and teachers
b. Attended McNeese Teacher fair on 11/4 with administrators and supervisors
2. District Operations and Financial Management
a. Attended meeting @ Hoffpauir’s on 11/17 with FEMA and Mr. Ladner regarding SCHS gym project
b. Held C&I meeting on 11/9
c. Met with rep from Ross Bus Sales on 11/1
3. Student Growth and Achievement
a. Participated in conference call with LDOE on 11/15 regarding score releases
b. Met with Administrators from all schools regarding fall school climate check
4. Communication and Community Relations
a. Attended LNG convention @ Golden Nugget on 11/1
b. Met with Dr. Burkel on 11/3 regarding future endeavors with McNeese State University
5. Organizational Leadership
a. Participated in a LDOE Superintendent’s call on 11/4
b. Attended annual SPED Law conference in Baton Rouge on 11/13-11/15
c. Attended Fall LASS conference on 11/30
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board adjourned the regular school board meeting at 5:59 pm.
