The Cameron Parish School Board met in regular session on this date with the following members present: Clifton Morris – President, Loston McEvers, Dot Theriot, Dwayne Sanner, Pat Howerton, and Rachel Abadie. Absent: Marvin Trahan.
On motion of Mr. Howerton, seconded by Mrs. Abadie, the Board approved the agenda.
On motion of Mr. McEvers, seconded by Mrs. Theriot, the Board approved the minutes from the June 14, 2004 regular meeting and the June 30, 2004 special meeting as printed.
The Board received from Dennis Trahan, Cameron Communications, the annual phone directory cover picture.
On motion of Mr. Sanner, seconded by Mr. Howerton, the Board considered action of the Finance Committee and accepted low bids on the following items for 2004-2005: (tabulations attached)
(A) Janitorial supplies
(B) Paper goods
(C) Duplicating paper
On motion of Ms. Theriot, seconded by Mr. Sanner, the Board considered action of the Finance Committee and accepted low bids on the following items for 2004-2005: (tabulations attached)
(A) Bread
(B) Milk
On motion of Mr. Sanner, seconded by Mr. Howerton, the Board authorized advertising for bids for surface leases as follows:
(A) Leases which expire July 31, 2004 –

16-15-14
(B) Unpaid leases with renewals due 7-31-04.
On motion of Mrs. Theriot, seconded by Mr. McEvers, the Board authorized adoption of the salary schedule considered by Committee members.
On motion by Mr. Howerton, seconded by Mr. Sanner, the Board authorized accepting the Superintendent’s recommendation to remove from the table and delete the resolution entitled “Management of New Revenue”.
On motion of Mrs. Theriot, seconded by Mr. McEvers, the Board removed from the table the item entitled for “physical education and athletic needs,” received a report, and authorized the Superintendent to obtain additional data.
On motion of Mrs. Abadie, seconded by Mr. Howerton, the Board approved the financial report (from Finance Committee) and the payment of bills (from Finance Committee).
On motion of Mr. Howerton, seconded by Mr. McEvers, the Board voted to enter into executive session to receive a report from a parent and student.

On motion of Mr. Howerton, seconded by Mr. McEvers, the Board voted to return to regular session.

On motion of Mr. Howerton, seconded by Mr. McEvers, the Board received the report from the executive session.
On motion of Mrs. Abadie, seconded by Mrs. Theriot , the Board approved personnel items.
Non-renewal of Employment:
Melinda Harrington – Johnson Bayou High – recommend termination effective at the close of the 2003-2004 session and the expiration of her contract based upon her non-certified status, alignment with reconstituted school goals, and envisaged program expectations.
