Parish of Cameron

The Cameron Parish School Board met at its regular meeting on this date, members in attendance are: Marsha Trahan, Tracy Carter, Karen Nunez, James Boudreaux, R. Scott Nunez, Dwayne Sanner and Dorothy Theriot.

The prayer and the pledge were led by Mrs. Theriot and Mr. Boudreaux.

On the motion of Mr. Sanner, seconded by Mr. Nunez, the Board approved the agenda.

On the motion of Mr. Nunez, seconded by Mrs. Theriot, the Board approved the minutes of the April 14, 2014, Cameron Parish School Board meetings, as presented by the Superintendent.

On the motion of Mrs. Nunez, seconded by Mr. Boudreaux, the Board approved recommendation of New York Marine/Midlands at $44,674., at a savings of $7,867. over 2013-2014, for Workers Compensation for a sixteenth month period extending from 6/20/2014 to 10/1/2015 year, as presented by Ms. Nancy Sylvester, Gallagher Public Entity and Scholastic Division.

On the motion of Mr. Nunez, seconded by Mrs. Nunez, the Board received the monthly report on property income, as prepared by Mr. Lee Bloch, Bloch, Briggs and Associates, and requested expiration dates be added to the monthly report.

                        On the motion of Mr. Nunez, seconded by Mr. Sanner, the Board approved the following financial issues as received in the finance committee meeting, as presented by Mrs. Michelle Trahan:

·       Authorization of payment of the bills

·       Report of Finance Committee

·       Receipt of Financial Statement and Reports of Current Investments

·       Receipt of Eagle Asset Management April Report

·       Receipt of monthly report on FEMA Project Worksheets, as prepared by Hoffpauir Architects

On the motion of Mr. Boudreaux, seconded by Mr. Nunez, the Board approved current construction bid activities, as presented by James Hoffpauir, Project Management:

A.  Projects to be bid-   James Hoffpauir, Project Management

·       South Cameron High School Parking Lot- Rita/Ike-Bid date to be determined

·       Grand Lake High School Baseball/Softball Restrooms and Storage-out for bid May 29, 2014

B.  Projects out for bid-   James Hoffpauir, Project Management

·       None at this time.

C.  Quote out for response-   James Hoffpauir, Project Management

·       None at this time.

On the motion of Mr. Boudreaux, seconded by Mr. Nunez, the Board approved  Morcore Roofing, LLC, low bidder, as General Contractor for South Cameron High School Girls Gym Re-roofing- CDBG, as presented by Mr. James Hoffpauir, Project Management.

On the motion of Mr. Boudreaux, seconded by Mrs. Nunez, the Board approved authorizing the Superintendent to advertise for new bids and accept low bids on currently advertised projects due to requisite number of advertising days and a need to move forward on projects, as presented by the Superintendent.

On the motion of Mr. Boudreaux, seconded by Mrs. Nunez, the Board approved updates on current FEMA, CDBG and General Fund Construction, Repairs, and Renovations to permanent and temporary sites' projects from Hoffpauir Architects, LLC, Cameron Parish School Board's Project Management Firm, as presented by James Hoffpauir, Mr. David Brossett, Brossett Architects, LLC and Mr. Randy Broussard, Randall Broussard Architects.   

On the motion of motion of Mrs. Theriot, seconded by Mr. Sanner, the Board approved the annual continued employment resolution pursuant to LRS 745 of 1977 providing that a support and substitute employee shall have the same probability

for employment after the 2014 summer vacation period or another holiday, as the support and substitute employee had prior to the beginning of the vacation period, as presented by the Superintendent.

On the motion of Mr. Sanner, seconded by Mrs. Theriot, the Board adjourned the regular school board meeting.
