The Cameron Parish School Board met at its regular meeting on this date, members in attendance are: R. Scott Nunez, Loston McEvers, Dot Theriot, Marsha Trahan, Dwayne Sanner, Karen Nunez and Marvin Trahan.
The prayer and the pledge were led by Mr. Scott Nunez and Mr. Marvin Trahan.
On the motion of Mr. McEvers seconded by Mrs. Nunez, the Board approved the agenda with addendum.
On the motion of Mr. Trahan, seconded by Mrs. Theriot, the Board approved the minutes as printed from the April 13, 2009 regular board meeting.

On the motion of Mrs. Theriot, seconded by Mrs. Nunez, the Board received an update on current FEMA and General Fund Construction, Repairs, and Renovations to permanent, and temporary sites' projects from Hoffpauir Architects, LLC, Cameron Parish School Board's Project Management Firm, as presented by James Hoffpauir, Architect and Selena Cisneros, Engineer.
On the motion of Mr. Trahan, seconded by Mrs. Trahan, the Board approved the revision to the contract with Siemens Technology to provide for ongoing energy efficiency measures and upgrading programming to allow systems control by trained administrators at Grand Lake High School and Hackberry High School sites at an annual cost of $13,699 annual for first year; $14,179 annual for second year; $14,671 for third year with one-time cost of $1,925 for program upgrade and training as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Theriot, seconded by Mr. McEvers, the Board approved contracting Vincent and Shows as Architect of South Cameron High School Vocational Education Technical Building at South Cameron High School, a CDBG project, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mr. Trahan, seconded by Mrs. Theriot, the Board approved the change order requested by Gayle Zembower to direct Priola Construction to provide for visitor parking of 26 vehicles at new Cameron Parish School Board site at a cost of $123,860.00, justification is such that current project provides only for employee parking (approved for 24 vehicles) as presented by the Superintendent and Mr. James Hoffpauir of Hoffpauir Architects.
On the motion of Mrs. Nunez, seconded by Mr. Nunez, the Board approved moving Grand Lake High School Remaining Bond Issue Balance from Gym Expansion to Softball Field project as presented by Mrs. Karen Nunez and Mr. Scott Nunez.

On the motion of Mr. Nunez, seconded by Mrs. Trahan, the Board authorized the Superintendent to advertise for new bids and accept low bids on currently advertised projects due to requisite number of advertising days and a need to move forward on projects.
On the motion of Mr. Trahan, seconded by Mrs. Theriot, the Board approved the cancellation of special final budget meeting previously scheduled for June 22, 2009 as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mr. McEvers, seconded by Mr. Nunez, the Board requested Grand Lake High School Faculty to provide updated input on 4 day week no later than June 8, 2009 Cameron Parish School Board meeting, if they chose to present, as presented by Mr. Loston McEvers.
On the motion of Mr. McEvers, seconded by Mrs. Theriot, the Board received a report on H1N1 Flu as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mr. Trahan, seconded by Mr. Nunez, the Board granted annual authorization to Superintendent to staff schools for 2009-2010, based on transfers, then new hires, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Theriot, seconded by Mr. Nunez, the Board approved the Personnel Report as presented by the Superintendent.

On the motion of Mr. Trahan, seconded by Mrs. Trahan, the Board approved adding to the agenda two addendum items concerning property leases, one in Cameron and one in Hackberry.
On the motion of Mr. Trahan, seconded by Mrs. Theriot, the Board approved paying the October 2008-2009 lease of property adjacent to Cameron Elementary School and sending with payment a notification to the property owners that Cameron Parish School Board is no longer interested in leasing the property.
On the motion of Mr. McEvers, seconded by Mrs. Nunez, the Board approved the lease of a 16th section property negatively impacted by Hurricane IKE for one (1) year at no cost if an affidavit is provided that during the year there was no profit, hunting, nor use of property as intended.
On the motion of Mrs. Nunez, seconded by Mr. Nunez, the Board approved allowing a student and sibling temporarily living out-of-parish to meet the appropriate school bus at the Grand Lake Recreation Center to ride to and from school.
On the motion of Mr. Trahan, seconded by Mr. Nunez, the Board approved retaining attorney Tom Salari to represent the Cameron Parish School Board in matters of litigation.
On the motion of Mr. McEvers, seconded by Mrs. Theriot, the Board adjourned the regular school meeting.
