The Committee met on this date at 3:00 p.m. with the following members present: Loston McEvers, Dot Theriot, Patty Morris, Pat Howerton, Marvin Trahan, and Rachel Abadie. Absent: Dwayne Sanner.
On motion of Mrs. Abadie, seconded by Mrs. Theriot, the Committee approved the agenda.
On motion of Mr. Trahan, seconded by Mrs. Morris, the Committee received the monthly financial statement.
On motion of Mrs. Theriot, seconded by Mr. Trahan, the Committee received the report of payment of bills.
On motion of Mrs. Abadie, seconded by Mr. Howerton, the Committee received a report regarding the Monetary Records and Academic Growth of the following schools:
South Cameron Elementary receiving $5,000.00, Hackberry School receiving $5,000.00 and Grand Lake School receiving $8,500.00.
The Board was introduced to the State FBLA President – Miss Sara Taylor, a student attending Grand Lake High School.
On motion of Mrs. Theriot, seconded by Mr. Trahan, the Committee adjourned.

CAMERON PARISH SCHOOL BOARD
The Cameron Parish School Board met in regular session on this date with the following members present: Loston McEvers, Dwayne Sanner, Dot Theriot, Rachel Abadie, and Pat Howerton. Absent: Dwayne Sanner and Marvin Trahan.
On motion of Mr. Howerton, seconded by Mrs. Abadie, the Board approved the agenda.
On motion of Mr. Howerton, seconded by Mr. Sanner, the Board approved the minutes from the regular meeting of March 13, 2006 as printed.
No Bids were received on the Mineral Lease advertised on Section 16-14-5.
On motion of Mr. Howerton, seconded by Mrs. Morris, the Board approved the bid for the surface lease on Section 16-15-14 containing 20 acres.
Mr. Glenn Trahan $565.00 (sole bid)
On motion of Mrs. Morris, seconded by Mrs. Theriot, the Board received comments from Ms. Amanda Leger regarding construction project at Johnson Bayou School.
On motion of Mr. Howerton, seconded by Mrs. Abadie, the Board approved the bid results on School Food Service Non-Food Supplies for the 2006-2007 school term.
On motion of Mr. Howerton, seconded by Mrs. Theriot, the Board approved the bid results on Janitorial Supplies, Paper Goods and Duplicating Paper for the 2006-2007 school term.
On motion of Mrs. Theriot, seconded by Mrs. Abadie, the Board approved the payment of bills and the monthly Financial Statement received in the Finance meeting.
On motion of Mr. Howerton, seconded by Mrs. Abadie, the Board received the report from Mr. David Hebert, Cameron Parish Sheriff’s Department regarding the United States Marine Corp Reserve Toys for Tots Program that was distributed to Cameron Parish students before Christmas. Mr. Hebert presented the Board with a plaque in regards to the Toys for Tots Program. Mr. Hebert also, gave a report regarding the status of the Dare Program for Cameron Parish students.
On motion of Mrs. Theriot, seconded by Mrs. Morris, the Board approved the report regarding Monetary Rewards and Academic growth.
On motion of Mrs. Abadie, seconded by Mr. Howerton, the Board received a report on acknowledging the Introduction of the State FBLA President – Ms. Sara Taylor.
On motion of Mr. Howerton, seconded by Mrs. Abadie, the Board approved the following personnel report.

Rita Theriot, Bus Driver, Cameron Elementary School, (She was inadvertly left off of the list presented at the last meeting.)
Thomas Hoffpauir, Middle School Teacher, Grand Lake High School, for the 2006 – 2007 school session. (He has earned Highly Qualified Status)
Mike Thomas, Assistant Principal, Grand Lake High School (for a one-year temporary appointment pending Hurricane Rita impact).

Professional Development,
Intervention Strategies To assist with redelivery for our teachers beginning in July 2006: Superintendent asked/recommended that Nancy Boudreaux, Jackie Holmes, Eva January, and Willyne Kestel attend the Special Education Academy in Bar Harbor, Maine, June, 2006 (IDEA FUNDS).
ACCRUED SICK LEAVE
Elizabeth Brasseaux, Recommend payment of up to 25 days of accrued and unused sick leave on the occasion of her retirement pursuant to the Louisiana Revised Statutes.
On motion of Mrs. Theriot, seconded by Mrs. Morris, the Board adjourned until the regular board meeting on May 8, 2006 at the LSU Ag Center at 3:00 P.M.
