The Cameron Parish School Board met at its regular meeting on this date, members in attendance are: Tracy Carter, Dot Theriot, Marsha Trahan, Dwayne Sanner, Karen Nunez, James Boudreaux and R. Scott Nunez.
The prayer and the pledge were led by Mrs. Carter and Mr. Boudreaux.
On the motion of Mrs. Nunez, seconded by Mrs. Carter, the Board approved the agenda, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Nunez, seconded by Mr. Boudreaux, the Board approved the board minutes of the regular meeting on March 11, 2011, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Nunez, seconded by Mrs. Trahan, the Board approved receiving comments from Linda Hardee and Bob Hensgens, candidates for State Representative District 47, the seat vacated by Senator Jonathan Perry, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Trahan, seconded by Mr. Nunez, the Board approved the following financial issues, as presented by Mrs. Smythe.
Payment of the bills
Financial Statement and Reports of Current Investments
Received millage rates for the tax year 2011, as presented by Mrs. Smythe.

On the motion of Mrs. Nunez, seconded by Mr. Boudreaux, the Board received monthly update on FEMA issues, with overall payments of $39,401,663.40 (Rita, Gustav and Ike payments) to date, per spread sheet, $20,114,193.02 in request for funds submitted to be paid, as presented by Ms. Cisneros.
On the motion of Mrs. Nunez, seconded by Mr. Boudreaux, the Board approved advertising for bids for the items noted, as presented by Mrs. Anna Murphy.

On the motion of Mrs. Carter, seconded by Mrs. Trahan, the Board approved the following land issues, as presented by Mr. Charles Wilson.
Approved granting authorization to advertise for surface lease for a (20) twenty acre tract on Section 16-15-14 for a five year period
Approved receiving nomination for a certain tract of land containing 324.3 acres, more or less, in Section 16, Township 12 South, Range 6 West, Cameron Parish, for an Oil, Gas and Mineral Lease, as presented by District Attorney Cecil Sanner and Mr. Charles Wilson.
On the motion of Mr. Boudreaux, seconded by Mrs. Carter, the Board approved current construction bid activities, as presented by James Hoffpauir, Project Management.

Grand Lake High School Renovations, Phase I (Art Room and Pre-K Playground)- to be advertised April 14, 2011, pending anticipated official authorization from CDBG to advertise.

On the motion of Mrs. Nunez, seconded by Mrs. Carter, the Board approved authorizing the Superintendent to advertise for new bids and accept low bids on currently advertised projects due to requisite number of advertising days and a need to move forward on projects, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Nunez, seconded by Mrs. Trahan, the Board received update on current FEMA, CDBG and General Fund Construction, Repairs, and Renovations to permanent and temporary sites' projects from Hoffpauir Architects, LLC, Cameron Parish School Board's Project Management Firm, as presented by James Hoffpauir, Architect, and Selena Cisneros, Engineer, Superintendent and Project Architects.
On the motion of Mrs. Nunez, seconded by Mrs. Trahan, the Board received official written notification from the Office of Community Development-Disaster Recovery Unit that the environmental review process has been completed for the approved projects to be implemented at Grand Lake High School, as presented by Ms. Cisneros.
On the motion of Mrs. Nunez, seconded by Mr. Nunez, the Board received the Environmental Review Record, Executive Summary, of Grand Lake High School Multiple Improvements Project through the Louisiana Office of Community Development, as presented by Ms. Cisneros.
On the motion of Mr. Nunez, seconded by Mrs. Nunez, the Board approved again and authorized signature of contract with Priola Construction Corporation for Career and Technical Building at Grand Lake High School with official approval of the Community Development Block Grant Program, as presented by Ms. Selena Cisneros.
