The Cameron Parish School Board met at its regular meeting on this date, members in attendance are: Tracy Carter, Dot Theriot, Marsha Trahan, Karen Nunez, James Boudreaux, R. Scott Nunez and Dwayne Sanner.
The prayer and the pledge were led by Mrs. Carter and Mr. Boudreaux.
On the motion of Mrs. Nunez, seconded by Mr. Boudreaux, the Board approved the agenda.
On the motion of Mr. Boudreaux, seconded by Mr. Sanner, the Board approved the board minutes of the regular meeting on May 14, 2012, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mr. Sanner, seconded by Mrs. Nunez, the Board received the recommendation of Midwest Casualty at $35,602 for Workers Compensation for 2012-13 year, as presented by Ms. Nancy Sylvester, Gallagher Public Entity and Scholastic Division.
On the motion of Mr. Nunez, seconded by Mr. Boudreaux, the Board authorized to advertise for expired surface leases, as presented by Mr. Lee Bloch, Bloch, Briggs Associates Inc.:
· Section 16 Township 12 South Range 10 West
· Section 16 Township 14 South Range 5 West
· Section 16 Township 14 South Range 6 West
· Section 16 Township 15 South Range 6 West
· Section 16 Township 15 South Range 15 West
On the motion of Mr. Nunez, seconded by Mr. Boudreaux, the Board tabled for 30 days the authorization, subject to form and legality, the use of new surface lease forms that convey specific rights, as presented by Mr. Lee Bloch, Bloch, Briggs Associates Inc.
On the motion of Mr. Nunez, seconded by Mr. Boudreaux, the Board approved the following as presented by Mr. Lee Bloch, Bloch, Briggs Associates Inc.:
· Authority to discontinue advertising unexpired leases.
· Authorize a change in procedure whereby advertising for expired or new leases may occur without a formal resolution and/or authority from the Board, with Board approval for the granting of any leases to be awarded.
· Authorize the execution of a Right of Entry in favor of the federal Natural Resource Conservation Service in order to access Section 16 Township 14 South Range 8 West (North Creole area) in order to plant native grasses along the south prong of Grand Bayou, subject to legal review of the agreement form.
On the motion of Mrs. Nunez, seconded by Mrs. Trahan, the Board approved the following financial issues:
Authorization of payment of the bills, as presented by Mrs. Trahan.
Receipt of Financial Statement and Reports of Current Investments, as presented by Mrs. Trahan
Receipt of monthly update on FEMA issues, with overall payments of $ 54,168,250.09 (Rita, Gustav and Ike payments) to date, $14,052,947.93 in request for funds submitted to be paid, as presented by Ms. Sylvia Cisneros.
Accepted low bids from the following vendors on items noted, as presented by Mrs. Murphy.
Ø Economical -Copy Paper – 2012 - 2013 school year
Ø Cameron Pilot-Official Journal – 2012 – 2013 school year
Ø Cotton Bakery-Bread/ Borden- Milk (August 2012 – May 2013) 2012-2013 school year
Ø Economical, Lake City Supply, All American Poly and Unisource-Janitorial Supplies – 2012-2013 school year
Ø Economical and Lake City Supply- Paper Goods – 2012-2013 school year
Ø Economical and Lake City Supply-Lunchroom Non-Food Bid- 2012-2013 school year
On the motion of Mr. Boudreaux, seconded by Mr. Sanner, the Board approved the acceptance of the Final Budget for close of 2012 fiscal year, as presented by Mrs. Trahan.
On the motion of Mrs. Trahan, seconded by Mr. Boudreaux, the Board received recommendations for 30 day review revisions to Policy JCDA, Student Code of Conduct, per annual Discipline Policy Review Committee meeting, as presented by Mr. Gregoire Theriot.
On the motion of Mrs. Nunez, seconded by Mrs. Carter, the Board approved current construction bid activities, as presented by James Hoffpauir, Project Management:

C. Approval of bid and quote awards- Selena Cisneros, Project Management

On the motion of Mrs. Nunez, seconded by Mrs. Carter, the Board approved authorizing the Superintendent to advertise for new bids and accept low bids on currently advertised projects due to requisite number of advertising days and a need to move forward on projects, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Nunez, seconded by Mrs. Carter, the Board approved updates on current FEMA, CDBG and General Fund Construction, Repairs, and Renovations to permanent and temporary sites' projects from Hoffpauir Architects, LLC, Cameron Parish School Board's Project Management Firm, as presented by James Hoffpauir, Architect, and Selena Cisneros, Engineer, Superintendent and Project Architects, and Architects Randy Broussard and David Brossett.
On the motion of Mr. Sanner, seconded by Mr. Nunez, the Board approved setting special meeting on July 9, 2012 at 5:00 PM for second Public Redistricting Workshop and setting Board Meeting on July 9, 2012 at 3:00 PM, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mr. Nunez, seconded by Mrs. Nunez, the Board approved the Personnel Report, as presented by Superintendent.
The Board voted to enter into executive session for the purpose of receiving updates on the following cases, as presented by the Superintendent.
