Parish of Cameron

The Cameron Parish School Board met at its regular meeting on this date, members in attendance are: Tracy Carter, Karen Nunez, James Boudreaux, R. Scott Nunez and Dwayne Sanner and Dorothy Theriot. Absent: Marsha Trahan

 

The prayer and the pledge were led by Mr. Sanner and Mrs.Theriot.

 

On the motion of Mrs. Theriot, seconded by Mrs. Carter, the Board approved the agenda.

 

On the motion of Mr. Boudreaux, seconded by Mr. Nunez, the Board approved the board minutes of the regular meeting of April 8, 2013, as prepared by the Superintendent.

 

On the motion of Mr. Boudreaux, seconded by Mrs. Carter, the Board examined, canvassed and promulgated the returns of the May 4, 2013 Tax Millage Renewal Election, as presented by the Superintendent.

 

A roll call vote to receive millage rates for the tax year 2013, as presented by Mrs. Trahan.

A roll call vote on recommendation to set the Parish Wide Tax Millage at current millage rates with a 2 mill reduction of Constitutional Tax, per December 12, 2012 Cameron Parish School Board action and to set the District Tax Millage at 0% with the Cameron Parish School Board General Fund making debt service payments on District 4 (Grand Lake) and District 15 (Hackberry) for the 2013-14 fiscal year, per December 12, 2012 Cameron Parish School Board action, as presented by Mrs. Trahan.

On the motion of Mrs. Theriot, seconded by Mr. Boudreaux, the Board voted to include the tax renewals on the scheduled October election ballet.

On the motion of Mr. Nunez, seconded by Mrs. Carter, the Board approved the following financial issues

 

 

 

On the motion of Mr. Nunez, seconded by Mrs. Carter, the Board received official receipt of documentation of a clean audit of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for the Cameron Parish School Board’s Katrina/Rita Disaster Recovery Program funds with no findings or concerns, as presented by the Superintendent.

 

A motion to provide stipends for school administrators to work at their respective schools during the summer months on days when there are no scheduled trainings or meeting failed, as presented by the Superintendent.

On the motion of Mrs. Theriot, seconded by Mr. Boudreaux, the Board approved current construction bid activities, as presented by James Hoffpauir, Project Management:

 

A.  Projects to be bid-  James Hoffpauir, Project Management

 

 

B.  Projects out for bid-  James Hoffpauir, Project Management

 

 

C.   Approval of bid and quote awards- Selena Cisneros, Project Management

 

     

On the motion of Mrs. Theriot, seconded by Mr. Boudreaux, the Board approved authorizing the Superintendent to advertise for new bids and accept low bids on currently advertised projects due to requisite number of advertising days and a need to move forward on projects, as presented by the Superintendent.

 

On the motion of Mrs. Theriot, seconded by Mr. Boudreaux, the Board approved updates on current FEMA, CDBG and General Fund Construction, Repairs, and  Renovations to permanent and temporary sites' projects from Hoffpauir Architects, LLC,  Cameron Parish School Board's Project Management Firm, as presented by James Hoffpauir, Architect, and Selena Cisneros, Engineer, Superintendent and Project Architects.

 

On the motion of Mr. Nunez, seconded by Mr. Sanner, the Board approved holding the September Cameron Parish School Board meeting on September 16, 2013, as presented by the Superintendent.

 

On the motion of Mrs. Theriot, seconded by Mr.Boudreaux, the Board adjourned the regular school board meeting.
