Parish of Cameron

The Cameron Parish School Board met on this date and the Special Meeting was called to order at 3:06 pm, members in attendance are: Marsha Trahan, Christi Labove, Rhonda Boudreaux, Sheila Miller, John Canik, Sharon Picou, and Paula Smythe. Absent: Joseph Delcambre

 

The prayer and the pledge were led by Mrs. Trahan and Mrs. Smythe.

 

On the motion of Mrs. Boudreaux, seconded by Mrs. Labove, the Board approved the agenda.

 

On the motion of Mrs. Trahan, seconded by Mrs. Labove, the Board received the constitutional millage rates for the tax year 2015, as presented by Mrs. Michelle Trahan.

 

The Board held a roll call vote to adopt constitutional millage rates for the tax year 2015, as presented by Mrs. Trahan.

PARISH-WIDE TAXES                                         MILLAGE

 

Constitutional Tax                                                 4.66 mills

 

On the motion of Mrs. Boudreaux, seconded by Mrs. Picou, the Board accepted the Final Budget for the close of the 2015 fiscal year, as presented by the Mrs. Michelle Trahan.

 

Discussion of school allocation for the 2015-2016 budget, as presented by Mrs. Michelle Trahan:

 

On the motion of Mrs. Trahan, seconded by Mr. Canik, the Board approved the reduction of ink allotment to $20 per student vs. the prior $30 per student.

 

On the motion of Mrs. Labove, seconded by Mrs. Smythe, the Board approved a library allotment of $500 per school. Opposed: Mrs. Picou

 

On the motion of Mrs. Smythe, seconded by Mrs. Labove, the Board approved to reduce the Security Resource Officers to one at Grand Lake High School. Opposed: Mrs. Miller

 

On the motion of Mrs. Picou, seconded by Mrs. Boudreaux, the Board requested the Superintendent to prepare a proposal for the nursing staff for the 2015-2016 school year.

 

On the motion of Mrs.  Boudreaux, seconded by Mrs. Labove, the Board approved the 2015-2016 Cameron Parish School Budget with the above changes, as presented by Mrs. Michelle Trahan.

 

On the motion of Mrs. Smythe, seconded by Mrs. Boudreaux, the Board received for 30 day review changes to policy GBRK- Annual Leave, with the recommended changes, as presented by the Superintendent.

 

On the motion of Mrs. Boudreaux, seconded by Mrs. Smythe, the Board approved the following bid awards for the items noted, as presented by the Superintendent:

 

1.     Copy Paper – 2015– 2016 school year

2.     Official Journal – 2015 – 2016 school year

3.     Bread, Milk and Non Food (August 2015 – May 2016) 

4.     Janitorial Supplies – 2015-2016 school year

5.     Paper Goods – 2015-2016 school year

6.     Lunchroom Non-Food Bid- 2015-2016 school year

 

On the motion of Mrs. Boudreaux, seconded by Mrs. Smythe, the Board adjourned the Special Meeting.
