Offices-Schools & Central Offices will close at Noon, on Thursday, August 1, 2019

An email was sent out yesterday to all staff describing what Ransomware is, as well as steps you can take as an employee to help mitigate the possibility of an infection occurring.  Cameron Parish’s network security has always been a top concern which is why we have implemented certain security measures, but over the last several days we have participated in several calls to discuss how the attacks originated as well as how they are being addressed.  Today a six phase cyber incident prevention plan was presented to all parishes to be implemented as an additional layer of protection for their networks.  In order to implement this plan it will require internet access to be disabled Thursday 8/1, through Friday 8/2.  During this time all schools and the school board office will NOT have access to any internet based resources such as phones, email, google drives, etc…  Internal resources such as your user files on the server and JCampus will be available from the schools.  JCampus will not be accessible from any offsite location during this time.  Throughout Thursday and Friday the state recommended security layers will be put in place.  As those security layers are implemented resources will slowly become available but do not expect to have access to all resources until Monday 8/5.  We are fully aware that the timing of this isn’t ideal but securing the network to prevent the possibility of our schools coming under one of these attacks has to be prioritized.

Due to this internet issue all CPSB school and central office will close at noon on Thursday and reopen at 8 am on Monday, August 5, 2019.
