PARISH TEACHERS OF THE YEAR ANNOUNCED
The Cameron Parish School Board announce the Cameron Parish Teachers of the Year. These teachers will represent Cameron Parish in the Louisiana State Teachers of the Year Program.
Representing Cameron Parish as elementary teacher of the year is Holly Cuccia. Mrs. Cuccia is a 4th grade teacher at Johnson Bayou High School. This is her 4th year teaching in Cameron Parish. Representing Cameron Parish as middle school teacher of the year is D’Juana Fontenot. Mrs. Fontenot is a math teacher at South Cameron High School. This is her 22nd year teaching in Cameron Parish. Representing Cameron Parish as high school teacher of the year is Mrs. Jessica Aguillard. Mrs. Aguillard is a math teacher at Grand Lake High School. This is her 4th year teaching in Cameron Parish.
All of these educators will compete with other teachers in the State for semi-finalist positions in the Spring of 2019 and if selected as a semi-finalist will compete in the final competition in the Summer of 2019.
Other Cameron Parish teachers that participated in this year’s Teachers of the Year Program are from Grand Lake High School Misty Hackler and Ashley Fuselier, South Cameron High School Rebecca Trahan and Janna Kay Baccigalopi, Hackberry High School Stephanie East, and Johnson Bayou High School Lisa Liburd and Blair Jinks.
