Good Morning, parents. It's Tuesday, July 14th. This is Charley Lemons, your superintendent coming back to you again for the second series of videos this video will contain a lot of information regarding eligibility of students with extracurricular activities and I'm talking about maybe a 4-H or Livestock Show and or and sports okay if your child is enrolled in the virtual program and they are doing it on our platform, not through the state. If theyre going through Plato, then the answer is yes, they will be eligible to participate in extracurricular activities okay I just want to make sure we are clear on that. if you choose The Homeschool route that's offered in the state department the answer is no, they will not be able to participate okay. I just want to make sure that we're clear on that. I've had that question quite a bit. There's a lot of questions surrounding extracirricular activities and sports as we know it. I'm going to be perfectly honest with you and I'll talk about the LHSAA next and sports specifically. I know they're releasing information on what their plans are as far as when they're going to play or do whatever. My answer is this: while I'm a former coach and I want the kids to compete, I want them to play, I'm really not worried about the sports. okay my number one goal as well as Supervisors and administrators and hopefully the teachers if they get them back in class, to get them back in a normal educational setting or as normal as possible so that they can begin learning again. The athletics and stuff is nice, but that is kind of, to me right now, as far as what we're facing and what we're trying to get to you. okay please understand that our goal is to get them back in school. whatever the LHSAA sends us as far as the regulations and/or guidelines we're supposed to follow, we'll follow it and then make a decision should we have to. right now the balls kind of on their court. we're waiting on them give us more information. thank you for your time.
